Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee payables management, including vendor onboarding, invoice review, and compliance with company policies for employee expenses.
• Manage core accounting functions such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end close processes, ensuring adherence to GAAP.
• Implement and enhance accounting systems to streamline accounts payable, expense management, and corporate card programs, driving efficiency through automation.
• Prepare financial presentations and supporting schedules, ensuring accurate documentation for audits and compliance requirements.
• Lead the preparation of state and local tax schedules and filings, responding to inquiries as necessary.
• Identify internal control gaps and develop remediation plans to maintain operational integrity and compliance.
• Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices, providing insights to leadership through timely reports and variance analyses.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a blend of public accounting and private industry experience, preferably in entertainment or media.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite or comparable ERPs.
• Familiarity with online platforms for credit card management and expense reporting.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information effectively to senior leadership.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with financial analysis and strategic initiatives.
• Proficiency in creating graphical presentations using PowerPoint, Canva, or Adobe Acrobat.
• Knowledge of state and local tax regulations.
