Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for fund-level and property-level entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain high standards of financial integrity.
• Manage day-to-day accounting activities in coordination with property management teams and third-party service providers.
• Assist in the preparation and review of GAAP financial statements and investor reporting packages, including capital account statements and performance reports.
• Support fund-level accounting activities, including capital calls, distributions, and compliance with partnership agreements and loan covenants.
• Enhance accounting policies and internal controls, identifying opportunities for process improvement and workflow automation.
• Collaborate with acquisitions, asset management, and portfolio management teams to provide accounting insights that drive investment decisions and operational initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate private equity, fund accounting, or public accounting with a real estate focus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate investment structures, including fund-level and property-level accounting.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a detail-oriented and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication skills with the capacity to engage effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
• Experience in acquisition integration, revenue recognition, or ASC-742 compliance.
