Senior Fund Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily fund accounting and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all funds and related entities.
• Oversee and review the work of external fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors to maintain high standards of financial reporting.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, delivering timely financial reports and investor communications.
• Prepare and validate management and performance fee calculations, ensuring alignment with fund documents.
• Coordinate regulatory and compliance filings, and assist with new fund launches from a financial reporting perspective.
• Monitor cash flow projections and manage daily cash operations, including capital calls and distributions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and control measures.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• 2–5 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 or large national firm.
• Strong background in tax or audit with direct exposure to private equity funds, hedge funds, or alternative investment vehicles.
• Experience in fund accounting or financial reporting within a public accounting firm, fund administrator, or asset manager.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Proficient in U.S. GAAP for investment funds and partnership tax concepts.
• Strong Excel skills; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work on-site 4–5 days per week.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
• Familiarity with revenue recognition and ASC-742 regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and external providers effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset towards ownership and reliability.
