Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and AP/AR review to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries, accruals, and consolidated financial statements while providing variance explanations.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition for warehousing and transportation activities, validating billing alignment and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with Operations.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity across all entities, managing AR aging, reserves, and intercompany balances to enhance cash flow and working capital.
• Design and implement internal controls for cash, payroll, and revenue processes, serving as the primary liaison for external audits and regulatory compliance.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and reduce manual workloads, partnering with cross-functional teams.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, providing mentorship and establishing clear expectations to ensure accountability and continuity in critical processes.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit preparation.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing, or a closely related industry.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Nice-to-Have:
• CPA designation.
• Experience with ERP/accounting system implementations or major upgrades.
• Familiarity with transportation and warehousing management software.
