VP Controller

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
• Lead technical accounting initiatives, including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and complex equity transactions, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Prepare for PCAOB audits and implement internal controls and SOX-compliant processes to meet public company standards.
• Collaborate with external auditors and advisors throughout the IPO readiness process, including S-1 preparation and ongoing SEC reporting.
• Mentor and develop the controllership and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Legal, and Operations, to support business integration and communicate complex accounting matters effectively.
• Assess and enhance team structure and processes to support organizational growth and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• Active CPA certification.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong foundation in public accounting (Big 4 or large national firm preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in public company accounting and IPO readiness.
• Deep technical accounting expertise in complex GAAP areas, including ASC-606 and ASC-842.
• Proven ability to engage at the executive level and collaborate effectively with a CFO.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Experience in high-growth, technology-enabled, or acquisitive environments.
• Familiarity with PCAOB audit processes.
• Background in SaaS, marketplace, logistics, or multi-entity accounting environments.
