Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Oversee project and cost accounting, enhancing visibility into labor, travel, and subcontractor expenses.
- Design and implement robust internal controls to support audit readiness and mitigate financial risks.
- Coordinate annual financial audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team, establishing clear performance expectations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Drive process improvements and automation within financial systems to support operational efficiency and scalability.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive team, providing insights on financial performance and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with project-based accounting in construction, energy, infrastructure, or field services.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-entity accounting structures.
- Experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842 revenue recognition standards.
- ERP implementation experience, preferably with systems like SAP or NetSuite.
- Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in acquisition integration and long-range financial planning.
- Familiarity with financial dashboards and KPIs for executive decision-making.
- Ability to travel as required.
