Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, cash transactions, and bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Facilitate timely month-end and year-end close processes by preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls over financial transactions and reporting to safeguard company assets.
• Drive improvements in ERP systems and accounting processes to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary reconciliations and documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing valuable insights to the Controller.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering collaboration and ensuring high-quality output aligned with operational goals.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Proven expertise in month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with Sage 100 is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Experience in food, beverage, or dairy manufacturing.
• Prior experience supporting audits in a coordination or preparatory capacity.
