Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including the chart of accounts and accounting policies, while preparing audit-ready support files.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable workflows, coordinating with third-party property managers on rent, expenses, and necessary corrections.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting from third-party property managers, enhancing financial transparency.
- Manage CAM and NNN reconciliations for office and retail properties, driving compliance and accuracy.
- Oversee treasury and payment controls, including banking oversight, cash tracking, and managing reserves and distributions.
- Coordinate transaction accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and refinances, ensuring seamless transitions and standardized financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Must-Have:
- 5+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience, preferably in office and retail sectors.
- 10+ years of overall accounting experience with a proven track record of ownership in the close process.
- Experience with CAM and NNN reconciliations is required.
- Strong understanding of treasury and cash controls in a lean operational environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Nice-to-Have:
- Experience overseeing third-party property management reporting.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
- Knowledge of acquisition integration and revenue recognition principles (ASC-742).
