Responsibilities

• Manage and direct payroll operations to ensure timely and accurate salary processing, benefits, and deductions.
• Supervise and develop a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including the Prevailing Wage Act.
• Coordinate with auditors by preparing and supplying necessary payroll documentation.
• Recommend and implement updates to payroll systems and procedures for improved efficiency.
• Oversee payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.
• Maintain precise records and reports of payroll transactions for internal and external review.

Qualifications

Must-Have:
• Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including tax compliance and internal controls.
• Experience with multi-state and union payroll processing.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage a 7-person team.
• Excellent communication skills for high interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite. Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with Paylocity payroll systems.
• Background in the energy sector or similar industries.
• Familiarity with Inflation Reduction Act tax credits and related compliance.
