Responsibilities

Lead production accounting teams to ensure precise cost reporting and effective asset management, supporting production operations.
Serve as a key resource for production accountants on studio policies, SOX compliance, and funding flows, enhancing financial accuracy.
Review production budgets, hot costs, and financial reports for completeness and accuracy, proactively addressing any discrepancies.
Oversee the workflow of pre-production costs and guide wrap accountants in the successful closure of shows.
Manage the quarterly corporate reporting process, ensuring the accuracy of production financial data.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on cash flow projections and cost reporting to inform critical business decisions.
Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and participate in various audits, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and guild requirements.

Qualifications

Must-Have:
10+ years of production accounting experience in a studio or production environment.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Proven experience managing show-level Production Accountants and familiarity with union and non-union production guidelines.
Strong knowledge of production insurance, guilds, unions, tax incentives, and compliance.
Proficiency in Movie Magic Budgeting and entertainment industry accounting software, including Smart Accounting and other EP products/platforms.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have:
Knowledge of state and international tax incentive laws and credits.
Experience with financial ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
