A high-growth, technology-enabled company is seeking a senior accounting leader to help guide the organization through IPO readiness and the transition to public-company standards.
This role partners directly with the CFO and executive leadership team and will be responsible for elevating the accounting function to meet SEC and PCAOB requirements. The position is highly visible and requires both technical depth and executive presence.
The mandate is straightforward: build a public-company–ready accounting organization that can withstand scrutiny, scale with growth, and operate with discipline.
Public Company & IPO Readiness
Lead preparation for a potential IPO, including oversight of PCAOB audit readiness
Support S-1 preparation and establish processes to sustain ongoing SEC reporting
Design and implement SOX-compliant internal controls and documentation
Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting
Oversee all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
Own complex technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, equity transactions, stock-based compensation, business combinations, lease accounting, and impairment analysis
Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and are ready for public-company reporting standards
Serve as the primary accounting advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team
Leadership & Infrastructure
Lead, mentor, and upgrade the accounting organization as needed
Assess existing processes and implement scalable systems to support continued growth
Strengthen policies, procedures, and reporting rigor across the function
Cross-Functional Partnership
Work closely with FP&A, Legal, Tax, Operations, and external advisors
Communicate complex accounting matters clearly to senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders
Support acquisition integration and other strategic initiatives as the company scales
Required
Active CPA
12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant public accounting foundation (Big 4 or large national firm preferred)
Direct experience preparing a company for IPO and/or operating in a public-company environment
Strong technical accounting expertise across complex GAAP areas (including ASC 606 and ASC 842)
Demonstrated ability to operate at the executive level and partner effectively with a CFO

Direct exposure to PCAOB audits
Background in technology-enabled, marketplace, logistics, or transaction-driven business models
