Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly financial statement consolidations and quarterly reporting packages for senior management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate and review monthly financial reports from property accountants to maintain consistency and integrity in financial data.
- Assist with SEC filings and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Produce journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and manage general accounting duties to support financial operations.
- Maintain the general ledger and support the integration of new acquisitions to streamline financial processes.
- Prepare supplemental financial schedules and assist in variance analysis for internal reporting.
- Support external financial audits by providing necessary documentation and insights as needed.
Qualifications
- Must-Have:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting and/or private company accounting.
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Nice-to-Have:
- CPA certification or in the process of obtaining licensure.
- Experience in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT) preferred.
- Familiarity with acquisition integration, revenue recognition, and ASC-742 standards.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
