Join a dynamic team as an Assistant Controller, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Controller and CFO in managing the financial activities of a specialized REIT. Responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior management, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Oversee the financial statement consolidation process, enhancing reporting efficiency.
• Manage treasury functions and support acquisition accounting and onboarding processes.
• Develop and maintain SOX compliance and administrative policies to streamline accounting operations.
• Assist in variance analysis and preparation of internal reports comparing budget vs. actuals.
• Support SEC filings, including offering documents and financial statements.
• Coordinate external financial audits and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and investor relations.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in public accounting or with a public company.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and cost accounting, with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or in the process of obtaining licensure.
• Experience in real estate, particularly with REITs.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite, and technical accounting concepts like Acquisition Integration and Revenue Recognition (ASC-742).
